LIP
BLUSH
Beautiful Lips with Lasting Color
Lip blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips. During this treatment, specialized pigments are carefully applied to the lips and lip line, creating a soft wash of color that gives the appearance of fuller, more defined lips. The result is a subtle tint that mimics the look of a natural lip stain, providing a fresh and youthful appearance. Lip blushing not only improves the overall aesthetic of your lips but also can correct asymmetry, enhance the lip contour, and make your daily makeup routine easier by reducing the need for constant touch-ups.
Two sessions recommended.
LIP
NEUTRALIZATION
Achieve Balanced Beauty with Dark Lip Neutralization
Dark lip neutralization is a cosmetic procedure that targets lips with deep pigmentation, often caused by genetics, sun exposure, or hyperpigmentation. This treatment uses specially formulated pigments to neutralize dark tones, lightening and balancing the lip color for a more even, natural look. Ideal for those with cool or darker-toned lips, dark lip neutralization enhances the lips' natural hue while creating a smoother, more uniform appearance. The result is a subtle, refreshed lip color that complements your complexion.
Lip neutralization will take multiple appointments. The number of sessions needed will vary from person to person. Colored pigment can only be added after dark tones are neutralized.
LIP BLUSH PRE-CARE
Prepare for Perfection: Your Lip Blush Pre-Care Guide
To ensure the best results and minimize discomfort during your lip blush appointment, please follow these guidelines:
-
Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol: Do not consume caffeine or alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment to help prevent excessive pain and bleeding.
-
Skip Blood Thinners: Please refrain from taking Advil or other blood thinners, such as Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, and Ibuprofen, for 48-72 hours prior to your procedure unless medically necessary.
-
No Exercise: Avoid exercising on the day of the procedure.
-
Steer Clear of Skin Treatments: Do not undergo any chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, or use products containing Vitamin E, retinols, or fish oil for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
-
Hydrate Your Lips: Keep your lips well-hydrated with a quality lip balm for at least one week leading up to your appointment.
-
Exfoliate Gently: Exfoliate your lips gently twice a day for three days prior to your procedure. For natural DIY lip scrub recipes, click here.
-
Timing with Fillers: Please wait at least one month before or after your lip blush appointment to receive any fillers.
-
Plan for Aftercare: Review the aftercare instructions and schedule accordingly, as there will be some downtime following the procedure.
-
**IMPORTANT NOTE:** If your appointment falls during an outbreak of cold sores, the procedure may need to be rescheduled. If you have a history of cold sores, there is a significant chance this procedure may trigger an outbreak. It is highly recommended to take antiviral medication starting 5 days before the procedure, on the day of the appointment, and continuing for up to 5 days afterward, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Please consult your healthcare provider prior to your procedure.
LIP BLUSH
AFTER-CARE
Nurturing Your Pout: Essential Lip Blush Aftercare Tips
LIP BLUSH DO'S:
-
Stay Hydrated: Blot your lips with a damp cotton round every hour on Day 1 to keep them clean and refreshed.
-
Manage Swelling: Use a cold compress and take Advil as needed to alleviate swelling and soreness.
-
Gentle Cleansing: Wash your lips twice a day with a gentle cleanser for the first 5 days after your appointment.
-
Intensive Moisture: Keep your lips thoroughly moisturized during Days 1-5 to promote healing.
-
Use a Straw: Drink beverages through a straw for the first 5 days to avoid contact with your lips.
-
Protect Your Tattoo: Apply sunscreen to shield your tattoo during the 6-week healing process.
-
Patience is Key: Allow 6 weeks for complete healing to fully appreciate the final results.
LIP BLUSH DONT'S:
-
Keep your lips dry: Avoid getting your lips soaking wet. If they do get wet, pat them dry immediately.
-
No touching or picking: Don’t touch, rub, or pick at your lips. Let them peel naturally to avoid removing the pigment and causing patchy healing.
-
Avoid contamination: Keep your lips away from any unclean surfaces, including your fingers. This helps prevent infection from bacteria.
-
Stay out of the sun: Sun exposure accelerates pigment fading and may alter the color of your lips.
-
No swimming or steam: Avoid swimming, long hot showers, saunas, or steam baths, as keeping your lips dry reduces infection risks.
-
Be careful with toothpaste: Keep toothpaste away from your lips. Brush your teeth carefully to avoid irritation.
-
Avoid makeup: For at least 10 days.
-
Sleep on your back: Don’t sleep with your face pressed into your pillow.
-
Avoid irritating foods: Stay away from spicy or salty foods. Cut food into small pieces to prevent cracking the healing scabs.
-
No smoking: Refrain from smoking to avoid irritation and dryness.
-
Skip beauty treatments: Avoid treatments or harsh ingredients near your lips to prevent irritation and ensure proper pigment settling.
-
No kissing: Kissing can lead to infection and disrupt the healing process by peeling off chapped skin.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER LIP BLUSHING
-
Immediately After:
Your lips may feel sore and appear more intense in color with some swelling and minor bruising for 1-2 days. The color will darken the next day as scabs begin to form, and these will typically fall off within 3-10 days, depending on your skin
-
Day of the Procedure:
Fluids will leak from the tattoo. Wipe your lips gently every hour with a damp cotton pad to prevent scab formation. You can use an ice pack (wrapped in a napkin) if swelling or tenderness persists.
-
Days 2-10:
Avoid touching your lips with dirty hands. Keep your lips dry and avoid soaking them in water to prevent premature scab removal. Apply Aquaphor frequently.
-
After the Scabbing Phase
Once scabs fall off, you may resume makeup and your normal routine. Your lips may appear slightly milky or grayish, which is normal as deeper layers continue to heal. Full healing takes about 6 weeks, and at that point, the true color will show. If needed, a touch-up can be done after 6 weeks.
-
Once Fully Healed:
Avoid products like Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen Peroxide, Retinol, and Vitamin C, as they can fade your tattoo. Sunscreen is recommended to protect the pigment, which can fade from UV exposure, saltwater, or chlorine. If receiving laser or beauty treatments, inform your technician about your tattoo. Results typically last 1 year, with touch-ups needed to maintain the color. Skin type and lifestyle factors may affect how long your lip blush lasts.
